Delhi sights

September 21, 2011

The Lotus Temple or, Bahai House of Worship, and nearby housing. Unfortunately it’s closed on Mondays, but we climbed over the barbed wire to take this photo! Sadly Mallika, our host, had to sacrifice her denims for this, but it was worth it in the end.

The India Gate, and thousands of Indian tourists.

It was taken over when India gained independence and is marked with the names of Indian soldiers.

This guy wanted a photo, I said ‘100 rupees,’ he said ‘discount,’ I said ’50 rupees,’ he said ‘ok’.

How do you choose your ice cream stall at the India Gate??

…the one with the sexiest stall tender of course.

Or the oldest auto.

Looking up to the Indian parliament houses.

Security is tight after the recent blasts.

Peak hour traffic.

To Let Rooms and Talking Blooms. By Delhi, the poet.

The Kingdom of Dreams, a bollywood fantasy land with a 4 hour musical, all types of performances and bollywood sets. We wanted to have just a peak inside but, like the Lotus Temple, it was closed too.
