Durga Puja

October 8, 2011

At the same time as the Garba, the Bengali festival of Durga Puja was happening, also worshipping the Goddess Durga. It’s an NID tradition that students from the region help organise and set up the celebration. In this case the students from Bengal dressed up, created a Durga idol (a more elaborate example below) and served their traditional food. A beautiful setting, a delicious free lunch and dessert with table (floor) service? It couldn’t get much better. Especially now that I’ve finally learnt how to eat rice with my hands.
