Every year NID hosts Chitrakatha, a celebration of animation. Students from all around the world entered films into a competition and the winners were announced at the end of the festival. During Chitrakatha there were plenty of films being played, speakers speaking, animation activities going on as well as stalls set up by up and coming graphics and animation businesses.

This stall had products by Bechain Nagri, a student and recent graduate run business. They sell books and t-shirts with illustrations that are so fresh they will blow your mind. I bought the one below.

The best place to find information is on facebook, here.

We were also surprised to see a presentation by Melbourne animator Darcy Prendergast, whom most of you would probably know from the film Mary and Max. He has only moved on to bigger and better things, so check out his company Oh Yeah Wow‘s website for more works. One of his works I like the most is below.

I went up and said hi after his presentation and invited him round to our guesthouse. So we had drinks with Darcy Prendergast!
